🥩🤩 COSTCO STEAK HACK: SAVE BIG💰🤯
–
If you love a good Costco hack, this one can save you some serious money! I got 18 steaks out of one piece of meat for less than $9 each…and each steak was almost 12 oz. 🤯 By simply cutting the steaks yourself, you can save over 40%!

How to Cut Your Own Steaks
Before cutting, pop the meat in the freezer for 15–30 minutes. This firms it up just enough to make slicing easier. Place the meat fat-side up and pat it dry. You’ll notice the cut has a slight angle to it, so you don’t want to automatically slice straight down or you could end up with uneven steaks by the time you reach the end. My trick: Make a small line first to use as your cutting guide. Then slice away!

How to Freeze Steaks for Up to a Year
Now for the other half of this hack: storing them! Wrapping your steaks properly helps protect them from freezer burn and keeps them fresh for up to a year.
Layer 1: Plastic Wrap
Wrap each steak as airtight as possible. This helps lock in the meat’s natural moisture and keeps air out.
–
Layer 2: Aluminum Foil
Wrap it again in foil. This blocks out light and gives your steak another heavy-duty layer of protection.
–
Layer 3: Freezer Bag
Finally, place the wrapped steaks inside a freezer bag. Before sealing, use a straw to suck out as much extra air as possible. It’s an easy little trick to get an even tighter seal!

Now you have a freezer stocked with individually portioned steaks ready whenever you need them and you saved over 40% by doing a little of the prep yourself! 🥩💰

NOTE: I bought a 13.25 lb. slab, roughly 16” long and ended up with 18 steaks weighing in at 12oz 😉 They came out to only $8.83 a piece 😍
