Budget BBQ Hacks

?? BUDGET BBQ HACKS ?? HOW TO HOST 8 PEOPLE FOR LESS THAN $60 ?

Are you hosting or attending a BBQ this summer? Save this post and SAVE BIG! Below is my shopping list for an entire backyard party ALL ON A BUDGET ? Or if you’re in charge of bringing a side or dessert, here are my favorites…just wait until you see my no bake cake ?❤️

First up is shopping! Here is my list for everything you need to feed 8 people, and its less than $60! I got all of these guys from my favorite… Trader Joe’s.

Grocery List:
Strawberries (1 lb): 2.99
2 Chocolate mini sheet cakes: 4.99 ea. (9.98 total)
1 pkg Hamburger buns: 2.99
1 container crumbled feta: 2.99
1 pkg Sliced Organic American cheese: 3.49
Unsalted dry toasted sliced almonds: 2.99
2 containers old fashioned potato salad: 4.99 ea. (9.98 total)
1 pkg of 3 boneless + skinless chicken breasts: 5.69
2lbs. Ground Beef 80/20: 4.99 ea. (9.98 total)
Baby Spinach Salad (small bag) 6 oz: 1.69
Baby Spinach (big bag) 12 oz: 2.49
1 jar Pesto Basil: 2.99
GRAND TOTAL = $58.25 ?

Now it’s time to share my recipes! Hack 1 is my garlic butter balls.

LORAfied Garlic Butter Balls
1/2-1 tsp. of minced Garlic to taste (optional)
1/2 stick of Butter, softened

Blend butter and minced garlic until well combined. Roll into 8 balls, approx. 1/2 Tbsp. each. Stick in fridge or freezer for a few minutes to harden.

When cooking your burger patties, place a ball on each patty. You are not going to believe how juicy the butter balls make your burgers!

8 cheeseburgers = $16.49 (buns and cheese included!)

Next up is my pesto chicken. You won’t believe how easy it is.

Thinly slice your chicken breast and marinate them in a jar of pesto. You’ll love how fast these cook and how moist they stay.

Chicken Pesto for 8 = $8.68

My favorite summer salad combo is pure magic and a big money saver!

Summer Salad:
Spinach
Sliced strawberries
Feta cheese
Sliced Almonds

Poppy Seed Dressing:
1/2 Cup plain yogurt
1-2 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
2-3 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tbsp. Maple syrup
2-3 tsp. Poppy seeds
Salt to taste
Whisk all ingredients in a small bowl until combined. Refrigerate leftovers.

Strawberry Spinach Salad for 8: $13.15

You are going to laugh when you find out what my secret potato salad is. Hint… it’s 1 ingredient and store bought.? I used two containers to feed 8 people.

Potato Salad for 8= $9.98

Lastly, for dessert, you are going to need 2 Chocolate mini sheet cakes and some flowers from your yard (or your neighbors).

This cake is a no bake wonder! Place your first sheet cake down and spread that frosting around to give it a homemade feel. For this dessert, I used my handy straw hack! Simply stick your straw through the strawberry. Cut these guys in half and place them on top of your sheet cake.

After placing your second sheet cake on top, wrap the ends of your flowers in plastic wrap and poke them in the cake.

I topped my cake with powdered sugar. When topping your cake with powdered sugar, cover the flowers with plastic wrap to avoid getting the sugar on them.

The best news? The only thing expensive about her is her looks. Dessert for 8= $9.98

Travel Hack: Easy Delayed Flight Trick

When’s the last time your flight was delayed? Mine was last night! The app on my phone was slow to load the progress of when my flight would actually take off – THIS is the QUICK + EASY way ANYONE can TRACK a FLIGHT ?

✈️?LORAfied TRAVEL HACK: EASY FLIGHT TRICK ?

The only thing you need for this hack is your flight number. This hack works for ANY airline! For example, my flight number was “DL429.” Not your confirmation or ticket number, just the flight number! Next, you are going to want to text that number to yourself.

Once you receive a text back, hold down on the number and click the option “preview flight.” When you click on this, it will take you to all of the information you need about your flight.

How GENIUS is this?! It is so easy and helpful for tracking your flight. It’s also free!

EASY + FUN No Bake Cupcake Bouquet Hack

If you had to pick one, would you choose cupcakes or flowers? Good news, you don’t have to pick with this hack AND we’re not even turning on the oven! Best of all, this is a dessert the kids can make for YOU! ?

?? DESSERT HACK + NO BAKE CUPCAKE BOUQUET ? 3 in 1: Flowers + Dessert + Centerpiece ??

Turn off your oven, head to the store and grab the cupcakes! You’re also going to need some toothpicks, tissue paper and a foam ball (all linked HERE!)

Step 1: place the foam ball in a bowl

Step 2: stick the toothpicks into it and gently slide each cupcake into place (I added a few minis in there too!)

Step 3: take your tissue paper and cut it into squares

Step 4: stick a toothpick through them to create a little greenery to fill in those holes

Helpful Home Hacks As Seen On The Sherri Show

I’m THRILLED to share my home hacks segment on The Sherri Show this week! This was such an exciting day for me, and I’m glad I could showcase some of my favorite hacks and meet the one and only Sherri Shepherd!? You can check it out here, or scroll down to see each one!

HELPFUL HOME HACKS??

First up, a game-changing bracelet hack! Putting a bracelet on yourself can be super frustrating, and feel impossible. the easy fix? Grab a hair pin, thread it through the hook and hold onto the pin with one hand while you clasp it together with the other hand. The hair pin provides the extension you need and does the trick!

Up next, the easiest hack for your rusty iron! Perfect for spring cleaning season. All you need is toothpaste, a toothbrush and a towel. Start brushing the iron with the toothpaste like you’re brushing your teeth. At first, it might seem like it’s not working and then all of a sudden, the rust is going to come right off! To finish off the hack, wipe the iron down with a towel. The last step is to add water to your iron and steam it to get rid of the excess toothpaste in the holes. My favorite thing about this hack is that it’s toxic free!

Paper towels are so easy to waste! What we are going to do is cut your paper towel roll in half, straight down the middle with a knife just like you are cutting bread. Half the roll makes us use half the amount! My family used to hate this hack and now we all love it.

This next hack is a super easy way to get an odors or excess smells out of your shirts. Too much perfume or even sweat? This does the trick! Start out by picking any cheap vodka, but make sure it’s vodka sister! Other alcohols like gin will stain your shirt. Add some vodka and water to your spray bottle and spray onto your shirt as needed. Let it dry and repeat if necessary.

NOTE: This does work on wool and silk, but if you are using any of these fabrics, DON’T add water to the vodka mix

Incase you missed it, I also shared my VIRAL packing hack! This is my favorite hack that makes packing SO much easier. You’ll need a collapsible closet organizer and you’re going to use each compartment to pack an outfit. When you take it out of your suitcase, hang it right up and you’ll have everything ready for your trip! Check it out HERE!

Do you struggle with folding fitted sheets? This hassle-free hack helps you get the best fold! On your bed or kitchen table, take your fitted sheet and put it elastic side up. Simply fold it in half and keep folding just like you would a regular sheet. How easy is that?!

Have you noticed how expensive razors are? It’s crazy! Luckily, there’s a way to make them last longer! You can also end soap dish scum and shower rings! I love these 3 GENIUS BATHROOM HACKS and can’t wait for you to try them ?

A little container of rice will keep your razor from rusting!

Tip #2:

Trader Joe’s Low Carb Diet Frozen Dinners

Do you have a frozen meal in your freezer? I have a lot! They’re great for those nights when you’re short on time and honestly, a BIG MONEY SAVER! But have you ever checked the carb count on those things? Even the “healthy” ones can be shockingly high in carbs ? Here’s what I grab at Trader Joe’s and what I skip ?

First up, the Indian food.

Skip: Thai Green Curry… it has 59 g of carbs!

Skip: Veggie Curry with Rice… it was 75 g of carbs!

We can do better. Instead grab these:

Buy: Paneer… it only has 5 g of carbs!

Buy: Eggplant Curry… it comes in at 7 g of carbs!

When it comes to fried rice, here’s what to put down.

Skip: Veggie Fried Rice… We are talking 42 g of carbs!

Instead, let’s grab this guy:

Buy: Cauliflower Fried Rice… with only 5 g of carbs!

This delicious meal was a shocker.

Skip: The Orange Chicken Bowl… it has 78 g of carbs! Yikes!

Here’s my alternative:

Buy: Shiitake Mushroom Chicken… with only 7 g of carbs.

And lastly, if you’re trying to avoid meat, here’s what to grab and skip for your vegetarian meal.

Skip: Veggie Burger… 1 patty is 18 carbs!

I found a great alternative.

Buy: Meatless Breakfast Sausages… these guys are only 2 carbs a piece!

Note: you can eat this ENTIRE bag and still consume less carbs than one of those patties ?
