Easy Apple Pie Hack on the Grill

How much do you love apple pie?! Apple cobbler? Apple Brown Betty? If you said yes to any of those you’re going to love my deconstructed apple pie on the grill. QUICK & EASY with stuff already in your kitchen! And the best part is, no pie plate to clean up.

Grilled Apple “Pie”

Serves 4-6 People

Apple Filling:
2 apples, peeled and diced
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp cornstarch
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cold butter, cut into pieces
1-2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract

It’s time for the base of our deconstructed pie, the apple filling. The best part of this is that you probably have most if not all of these guys already on hand in your kitchen. Stir everything together until all of the apple pieces are coated.

Topping:
1/4 cup uncooked oats
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup cold butter, grated
Pinch of salt

Now it’s time for the topping. Just wait until you taste that grilled brown sugar. This topping comes together with butter. My secret hack is using a cheese grater to grate the cold butter. Add the grated butter to the mixture of other ingredients in a bowl and toss together. It will be lumpy and crumbly! This delicious topping is going to act just like a pie crust.

Now it’s time to put it all together. Divide apple filling on 2 sheets of foil (dull side) and sprinkle on that topping. Don’t worry if it’s not pretty sister, this guy is going on the grill!
Cover with 2 more sheets of foil, making sure to tuck the corners in and up to seal.
It’s grill time! Cook on the grill for 12-15 minutes. Because it’s going to be super hot when done, let it set for about 10 minutes before opening. I made sure to scoop some ice cream right on top, and boy was it good!

NOTE: I highly recommend adding a layer of parchment paper on top of the foil before you add the filling. Studies are showing it’s better for your brain health to keep food from touching foil when heating ❤️
Can be made with GF flour and Non-dairy butter 🤩

The Best Tips for Flying with Pets

Have you ever flown with your pet? Or wished you could? It’s actually easier than you think! If you’re on a long trip, it’s also cheaper than hiring a pet sitter or boarding your pet. Here are my favorite tips for flying with pets.

Start by finding an airline approved pet carrier. Here is the link to the one I love- it is great!

When you book your flight, you are going to book your pets at the same time, but you aren’t going to pay for it until you get to the airport. Make sure to get there early- we do this because there are limited spots for pets, so make sure you secure your little guys a spot!

We’ve always flown Delta with our little guys, but there are many pet friendly airlines! Check the picture above for the full list of pet friendly airlines to travel with.

Here’s the current costs for a one way pet ticket:
Southwest – 125.
Delta – 95.
United – 150.
American – 150.
Jet Blue — 125.
Hawaiian – in Hawaii 35. Hawaii to mainland 125.
Spirit – 110.
Frontier – 99.

Now, onto security. Here, you are actually going to take your fur babies out of the bag and walk them through the metal detectors.

Just before boarding, we take one last stop at the pet relief station. Don’t forget to break down the carrier to avoid causing any traffic while boarding.

Although you bought your pets their own tickets, some airlines count them as your carry-on item. Make sure to check before you fly!

GRILL HACKS: Summer Series Pt. 1 😎☀️

Are you a griller? In our house it’s Scooter 🛵 Manning the grill is one of his favorite things! Today I am sharing 3 game changing grill hacks to step up your grilling game this summer.

Tip 1

Clean and season your grill with an onion! Scooter was probably just as surprised as your are, but this hack is a game changer. The onion helps get all of the pesky crud off!

Tip 2

When grilling veggies, just grab a baking rack! This keeps your veggies from getting lost in this grill forever.

Tip 3

Grab some fresh herbs to infuse a bit of flavor and place it on the baking rack! It smells great and does wonders for making your food taste extra fresh and flavorful. I added mine to my baking rack along with those veggies.

Are you a little freaked by the layer of sunscreen left in the pool? I am 😂. I’ve got a hack for that and some other fun summer tricks. Here are 4 free and easy pool hacks to make your life easier this summer!

Did you know that the Stanley Tumbler actually floats? How great is that!

Freaked out about that mystery layer that floats on top of your pool? I sure am! To keep your pool clean, toss in some tennis balls. These guys soak up hair products and more importantly, leftover sunscreen!

Next, grab a hamper. We are going to use this as out pool organizer! It’s perfect for storing your pool noodles and other random pool accessories.

Lastly, if you dread deflating your pool floats, grab a binder clip. The best part? Simply attach the binder to the spout. You can walk away and watch the magic happen. Hand-free deflating makes life so much easier and saves a ton of time.

Let’s start with these Walmart sneakers. They are an exact dupe of the Dolce Vita Dolan sneaker. The Dolce Vita sneakers are $150, but these dupes are only $35.

These Gucci copycats from Target are fantastic. Less than $33 each for the slides and loafers, while the Gucci versions cost over $900. What?!

If you’re a fan of the Hermes sandal that cost $760, pick up these Target dupes. They are an incredible lookalike and only cost ya $20!

Next, take a peek at these Christian Dior inspired slides. The designer version costs $775, while the Target dupe only costs $25.

LORAfied On-the-Go: Costco Cheat Day Grocery Store Hack! Food Court Ice Cream Sandwich

COSTCO HACK: FOOD COURT ICE CREAM SANDWICH 🤩❤️

Do you have a cheat day? Mine is Sunday! I have this 90% on 10% off philosophy and boy do I make sure that 10% is well spent 😂 Today’s CRAZY CHEAT DAY edition is meant to be shared by 2, 3 or even 4 people! This would also make a FUN & AFFORDABLE date night treat 🤗

First stop is running over to the Costco food court. We are going to order one quarter of the Costco ice cream and not one, but TWO of their decadent chocolate chip cookies.

Now for the ice cream sandwich. I grabbed a spoon and spread the ice cream on the bottom cookie, then topped it off with the other. Bring someone along with you, because this guy is going to take a team effort.

Just you wait until that cold ice cream hits those warm cookies. This cheat day hack is decadent, creamy, and everything you want on your cheat day.

Free and Easy GENIUS Home Hacks

🏠 🛋️ HOME HACKS: 3 TIME SAVING TRICKS ⏱️🧺 for EVERYDAY CHORES!

How much to you dread bringing in the trash cans from the curb? How about trying to get a couch cushion back in after washing the cover? Then there’s the dreaded no time (or desire) to iron 😑 I’ve got you covered! 3 FREE + EASY + FAST home hacks so you can do the things you really want to! 🤩

Let’s start with your trashcans. This hack makes bringing these guys to and from the curb SO much easier! Here’s what to do: open the lid of the first trashcan and stack it on top of the second one. Then, close the lid of the second trashcan. Now, both of your trashcans are secure! This is the quickest and easiest way to move these guys hassle free.

Next up is my couch cushion hack! All you need for this hack is a clean trash bag. This right here is the secret to never struggling with trying to fit your couch cushion back into its cover. Start by placing the cushion inside the clean trash bag. Then, insert the trash bag containing the cushion into the cover. Once it’s in place, simply pull out the trash bag, zip up the cover, and you’re done! The trash bag slides right out! Seriously sister, this hack is life changing.

Got wrinkles but don’t feel like ironing? Here’s my easy no-iron hack. Start by grabbing some ice cubes. Toss a handful (about 3-4) of ice cubes in the dryer along with the clothing item. Dry for 10 mins, and the wrinkles are gone!

Budget BBQ Hacks

🔥🍔 BUDGET BBQ HACKS 🍗🤩 HOW TO HOST 8 PEOPLE FOR LESS THAN $60 🤯

Are you hosting or attending a BBQ this summer? Save this post and SAVE BIG! Below is my shopping list for an entire backyard party ALL ON A BUDGET 🥳 Or if you’re in charge of bringing a side or dessert, here are my favorites…just wait until you see my no bake cake 🎂❤️

First up is shopping! Here is my list for everything you need to feed 8 people, and its less than $60! I got all of these guys from my favorite… Trader Joe’s.

Grocery List:
Strawberries (1 lb): 2.99
2 Chocolate mini sheet cakes: 4.99 ea. (9.98 total)
1 pkg Hamburger buns: 2.99
1 container crumbled feta: 2.99
1 pkg Sliced Organic American cheese: 3.49
Unsalted dry toasted sliced almonds: 2.99
2 containers old fashioned potato salad: 4.99 ea. (9.98 total)
1 pkg of 3 boneless + skinless chicken breasts: 5.69
2lbs. Ground Beef 80/20: 4.99 ea. (9.98 total)
Baby Spinach Salad (small bag) 6 oz: 1.69
Baby Spinach (big bag) 12 oz: 2.49
1 jar Pesto Basil: 2.99
GRAND TOTAL = $58.25 🎉

Now it’s time to share my recipes! Hack 1 is my garlic butter balls.

LORAfied Garlic Butter Balls
1/2-1 tsp. of minced Garlic to taste (optional)
1/2 stick of Butter, softened

Blend butter and minced garlic until well combined. Roll into 8 balls, approx. 1/2 Tbsp. each. Stick in fridge or freezer for a few minutes to harden.

When cooking your burger patties, place a ball on each patty. You are not going to believe how juicy the butter balls make your burgers!

8 cheeseburgers = $16.49 (buns and cheese included!)

Next up is my pesto chicken. You won’t believe how easy it is.

Thinly slice your chicken breast and marinate them in a jar of pesto. You’ll love how fast these cook and how moist they stay.

Chicken Pesto for 8 = $8.68

My favorite summer salad combo is pure magic and a big money saver!

Summer Salad:
Spinach
Sliced strawberries
Feta cheese
Sliced Almonds

Poppy Seed Dressing:
1/2 Cup plain yogurt
1-2 Tbsp. Mayonnaise
2-3 Tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tbsp. Maple syrup
2-3 tsp. Poppy seeds
Salt to taste
Whisk all ingredients in a small bowl until combined. Refrigerate leftovers.

Strawberry Spinach Salad for 8: $13.15

You are going to laugh when you find out what my secret potato salad is. Hint… it’s 1 ingredient and store bought.😋 I used two containers to feed 8 people.

Potato Salad for 8= $9.98

Lastly, for dessert, you are going to need 2 Chocolate mini sheet cakes and some flowers from your yard (or your neighbors).

This cake is a no bake wonder! Place your first sheet cake down and spread that frosting around to give it a homemade feel. For this dessert, I used my handy straw hack! Simply stick your straw through the strawberry. Cut these guys in half and place them on top of your sheet cake.

After placing your second sheet cake on top, wrap the ends of your flowers in plastic wrap and poke them in the cake.

I topped my cake with powdered sugar. When topping your cake with powdered sugar, cover the flowers with plastic wrap to avoid getting the sugar on them.

The best news? The only thing expensive about her is her looks. Dessert for 8= $9.98
