Have you ever wondered why your dishes aren’t coming out as clean as they use to? Here’s an easy little trick you can do right now to make your dishes instantly cleaner 🧽 One of my many landlord tricks 😉
When one of my tenants called me that their dishwasher was broken, I came to check and you will be shocked what I found! There was nothing wrong with the dishwasher. The problem was actually the dirty filter. Every dishwasher has a filter, and it’s so easy to pull out!
To bring your dishwasher back to life, soak the filter, clean the gunk out, then stick it right back in! I used water, dish soap, a little vinegar, and baking soda to clean the filter but it doesn’t really matter what you use! You can also just use dish soap.
Scooter and I have been landlords for over 20 years, it’s our side hustle that started by accident. When we got married, the real estate market was slow and I was having a hard time selling my house. At the time, we were struggling to cover two mortgages, so I rented my house out at a price that almost covered the bills on it. It took about five years before we started seeing positive cash flow from it, which wasn’t fun. But, during that time we learned a lot and decided we were pretty good at handling a rental property, so we slowly started buying others, we’re now up to seven rentals. While it’s not for the faint of heart, as the downside of being a landlord is real (if you follow along in my stories, you know a tenant trashed one of our houses last year 🥴) overall, we really enjoy it.
