Walmart Dupes: Secret Brands That Will Save You Money

?? DUPE ALERT: WALMART EDITION – THE SECRET BRANDS??

Have you ever wondered if the low food prices on Walmarts Great Value items were somehow inferior? I’ll be the first to admit, I would shy away from them thinking the prices were too good to be true. But I recently ran across an article by @bonappetitmag testing popular yellow cake mix brands…long story short: they liked the Great Value brand the best! That started me thinking (and researching) what other Walmart food items are masquerading behind fancier name brands? Here’s what I found!

 

Let’s start with their Great Value cake mix. These guys are made by my favorite box mix, Duncan Hines! Their Great Value ice cream is made from the same plant as Blue Bunny ice cream, and it’s a fantastic dupe for Bryers.

Their butter is a pretty easy guess as to what dupe it is… the packaging is almost identical to Land O’Lakes! Their peanut butter has a connection to a very familiar face- Peter Pan Peanut Butter. And when it comes to their ketchup, it’s Heinz!

Walmart’s incredibly affordable spices are McCormick, and wait til you see you makes their salsa… it’s Rosarita!

You can trace their baggies back to Ziploc, and their paper towels back to Bounty!

Walmart has GREAT deals for all of your food essentials. Get this, their Great Value Bread is made by Nature’s own. Their mayo has a strong connection to Kraft, and their yogurt is almost identical to Dannon. And when it comes to cereal, they are all made by the name brand!

 

DUPE ALERT: If you love A&W root beer, the Great Value root beer is a great dupe AND a great deal!

Low Carb Taco Bell Hacks

?? DIET HACK: LOW CARB TACO BELL ??

How often do you find yourself ordering on the run? With my work schedule and an unpaid job as a personal chauffeur to my teens I find myself in the drive-thru more often than I’d like, so l had to figure out some better choices. Here’s my latest edition of TASTY LOW CARB ORDERS- all from Taco Bell✅

First up is the cantina chicken bowl, my personal favorite! This guy went from 44 carbs down to 5 carbs. Here’s how I ordered it:

 

Next up we have the loaded beef nachos. These guys are usually 44 carbs but if you order ‘em this way, we’re talking around 10 carbs. The secret? Skip the chips! Here’s the order:

 

 

Here’s the beefy five-layer burrito without all of the carbs! We even left the beans and brought it down from 65 carbs down to 10 with this order hack: just no tortilla! Order it this way:

 

 

 

When I ordered the Nachos Bell Grande, I took off the chips and the beans. This one isn’t going to win any beauty pagents, but it tastes incredible! Keep in mind we took this puppy down from 80 carbs to 10… wow! Here’s the order:

The Best Drawer Organizing Hack

?? EASY ORGANIZING HACK: Save Time & Money ⏰?

Save time and money with this easy drawer organizing hack! Who has a drawer you’re scared to open? ?‍♀️ Mine was in Kid 3’s bathroom! Always an adventure when I dared to peak inside to see what he had jammed in there…although it was nice to discover where our new pack of 500 Q-tips ended up! This is my favorite way to organize my drawers. Hope you love this hack as much as I do ?

Step one is simple! Take everything out of the drawer. This will make it a lot easier to rearrange it.

This next part is a game changer. Grab your parchment paper because we are going to be making a template out of the drawer. Mark the front, wrap it up, and head to the store!

Here is the beauty of this hack…instead of guessing what will fit in your drawer, you can use your template to perfectly size and match dividers / bins that will work!

When you get back home, simply place your organizers in the drawer for an exact fit. How simple is that?! This works for any drawer in the house. Stick around for more game-changing hacks!

2024: Year of the Hare… or HAIR!

??‍♂️2024: Year of the Hare ?…I mean HAIR ? specifically Alpaca ? hair!

Kid 3 did A LOT to his hair in ‘24 ✂️ As we say Bye, Bye, Bye to another year, I thought we’d take a look back at the journey AND the origins of Alpaca Boy Band, Kid 3’s best buds who share his love of fluffy hair and texturizing spray ? For most of us, a dramatic change ends up being a Hair Raising experience…sorry, couldn’t help it, you know I love a good pun ? Here’s a recap of all of the crazy hair changes!

1.) Feb. 2024: @Chiefs game, when the hair was still “normal”

3.) 8th Graduation: Nailed it…almost ?

5.) First perm to help with the fluff (never thought I’d write that, LOL!)

8.) Decides the fluff is too much work, so naturally he decides to buzz AND bleach it ?

Holiday Storage Hacks: Episode 2

?? HOLIDAY STORAGE HACKS: EP 2 ? FREE + FAST + EASY ✅ 

Welcome to part 2 of my holiday storage hacks! Do you have any old pantyhose hanging out in the bottom of your sock drawer? Go grab ’em sister! They are the answer to storing candles without marking them up! And that’s just one of my easy tips to packing up the holidays! Scroll for my favorite frugal ways to store ornaments, lights & more! ?

Do you have a bunch of old drink holder laying around? Go grab ‘em because they are perfect for storing glass balls.

If party cups are more your thing, those work just as great. You can keep your smaller ornaments safe in an egg carton, and plastic balls can be separated by color into plastics baggies.

Now, to the dreaded lights. Hangers are a fantastic way to keep them organized.

You can also make a DIY cardboard cutout to hang your lights on!

Plastic wrap is one of my organizing secrets. I wrap pretty much anything I can in this, as it keeps dust and bugs away!

Time for a true confession…. I still have pantyhose in my dresser! The good news is, you can reuse them as perfect protection for your candles.

Holiday Storage Hacks: Episode 1

? ❤️ HOLIDAY STORAGE HACKS: EP 1 FREE + EASY ?✅

Are you ready to wrap up the wrapping mess? Me, too! I love the holidays, but I also love getting my house back in order. Here are some simple holiday storage hacks to store all of it until next year ?

 

Welcome to holiday storage part 1, which oddly enough starts in your bathroom! Cut open those empty toilet paper rolls and wrap it arond your paper. It’s a fantastic way of holding it in place without damaging it.

Pipe cleaners works great here, too!

Next, grab a garmin bag! This is my absolute favorite way to store wrapping paper, keeping it neat and protected until next year. The best part? You can hang it up to save space. 

Now, onto the ribbon! Pant hangers are PERFECT for storing your unused ribbon. It keeps ‘em neat and organized, plus you can hang it up right next to your wrapping paper!

Genius Cookie Hack

?? COOKIE HACK ?❤️

Have you ever fished for that one piece of cookie at the bottom of the glass? Me, too ? This genius cookie hack solves that by making a cup out of the cookie ? These make the perfect vehicle for anything – frosting, ice cream (less dishes) peanut butter, whipped cream…so many options! As if eating a cookie couldn’t get any better!

Start with any cookie dough you want and grab your cupcake pan.
HACK: Double up your pans to keep the bottoms from burning!

Next, press the cookie dough up against the side of the pan. My secret is to add a pinch of salt- it’s a game-changer! Preheat and bake your cookies based on the directions of the dough.

In the middle of baking (halfway on correct time), you’re going to take a spoon and gentry create that cup shape. Finally, stick ‘em back in the oven to finish baking.

Here’s the best part: you can stick frosting, ice cream, or anything into these guys! I love adding milk for the holidays.

 

NOTE: When baking, follow the time and temp on your recipe. The only difference here is the shaping.

The Best Wrapping Hack Ever!

Have you ever miscalculated how much paper it takes to wrap a gift? Me, too! It’s so frustrating, right?
Here’s a SUPER SIMPLE TRICK using that same piece of wrapping paper you thought was too small ? This wrapping hack even shocked Hoda and Jenna!

When it looks like you don’t have enough paper to cover that gift, this wrapping hack is here to save the day. 

 

Start by turning your gift at an angle. Next, take a corner of the paper and pull it toward the middle of the gift to measure.

 

Next, square off the paper and trim off the extra piece of paper.

 

Finally center your gift and wrap at an angle. Just tuck in the sides and fold the flap over.

Has one of your kids ever accidentally opened a siblings gift by mistake? It’s happened to me more than once and WOW, the aftermath can be a lot to negotiate, right?! Try my absolute FAVORITE GIFT WRAPPING HACK: Photo Gift Tags ? Not only are they cute, it’s super fun for everyone looking for their gifts. Have everyone laughing by grabbing some older photos of your family ? PLUS: FREE WRAPPING PAPER you already have hanging out in your recycling bin AND the HACK that will actually have you excited about finding an empty toilet paper roll ??

Let’s start with my favorite. Take some old family photos and turn them into gift tags! This is a super fun way to personalize gifts, and they turn out so cute. Plus, it’ll give the whole family a laugh!

This second wrapping hack helps you wrap gifts with items you have on hand! Did you know that paper that comes inside the package works great as wrapping paper? To make it look nice, I ironed out the paper and spritzed with water throughout the process. I used an empty paper towel to roll it up and it’s time to wrap. Just wrap as normal and stick a ribbon around it and get ready to embarrass your kids with those photo gift tags?

Next up is my toilet paper roll hack! It sounds crazy, I know, but it’s the perfect way to wrap those small funky sized gifts. Grab an empty paper towel roll, stick the small gift inside, and bend the ends down. Seal with tape and that’s it! It looks so cute and even cuter with a little bow. Who knew empty toilet paper rolls would come in handy?!

Free and Easy Holiday Hacks: Cookies, containers, and more!

Are you making cookies for your friends and family this holiday? Or wrapping a few gifts? No matter how you’re spreading holiday cheer, these 5 SIMPLE holiday hacks will help you SAVE TIME & MONEY this year! The best news: you already have everything you need ?

First up is my genius cookie hack- I’m so excited about this one! Did you know you can use flower vases or juice glasses at cookie stamp? Take a look at the bottom of your glasses or vases, and use the beautiful patterns to create a design on your cookies.

Next up is my frosting hack- the absolute best way to decorate cookies! All you have to do is stick your frosting in a condiment bottle. This hack makes sure there’s no mess and makes decorating a breeze.

With all these great cookie hacks, we need a place to put ‘em! Did you know you can turn an ordinary paper plate into a cookie box?! Just take your plate, and make 2 cuts on each side, about 2.5” deep. Next, come in and fold. Lastly, overlap the round sides and seal ‘em up with some handy tape. They turn out so darling!

Another option is to make cookie containers using red solo cups. Grab your solo cup, take your can opener, and remover the top. Next, take your scissors and cut down to create a lid!

Lastly, we are going to use those old Christmas cards and turn them into gift tags. This is a great way to reuse them, and they look darling on any gift!
